Digital EHT Probe, 0–20 kV

Last updated 30 September 2026

Checking the EHT on an early television normally means a meter and a separate high-voltage probe. This one is self-contained: a 2 GΩ divider in a long insulated body, and a 3½-digit LCD panel meter in the handle reading directly in kilovolts.

Two 1 GΩ, 20 kV high-voltage resistors share the voltage along the probe, a gas-discharge tube protects the handle end if they ever fail, and the floating battery supply means the earth clip is the only connection to the set.
